JCSS BOE Named Exemplary Board For Fourth Consecutive Year

The Jackson County Board of Education has once again been named an Exemplary Board by the Georgia School Boards Association. The 2026 Exemplary recognition is the highest honor a Board of Education can earn from the GSBA, and marks the fourth consecutive year the Board has earned the honor in Jackson County.
This honor recognizes the governance team's exceptional commitment to effective governance, continuous improvement, transparency, and collaboration - all of which support strong district leadership and student success, the GBSA said.
To earn the GSBA Exemplary recognition, Boards of Educations must successfully meet rigorous criteria that reflect the highest standards of effective governance, strategic leadership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
The Jackson County Board of Education is served by Chairman Ricky J. Sanders, Vice Chair Lynne Massey-Wheeler and members Rob Johnson, Ryan Brooks and Don Clerici.
