Parents Right to Know
Parents Right to Know
Under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), parents have the right to request information about the professional qualifications of their child's teacher or paraprofessional.
Upon request, the district will provide information about whether your child's teacher:
- Meets Georgia's certification and licensing requirements for the grade level and subject taught.
- Is teaching under an emergency or temporary certificate.
- Is teaching in the subject area for which they are certified.
Parents may also request information about whether their child receives services from a paraprofessional and, if so, the paraprofessional's qualifications.
To request this information, please contact your child's school principal.
