Federal Programs
The Jackson County School System (JCSS) Federal Programs Office manages federal education programs that provide additional resources to help students succeed. We work with schools, families, and the community to plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate our programs while ensuring they meet all federal and state requirements.
Federal funds are used to supplement, not replace, state and local funding. These funds provide extra instructional support, learning materials, professional learning for educators, and family engagement opportunities that help students achieve academic success.
JCSS Federal Programs
Title I, Part A – Improving the Academic Achievement of the Disadvantaged
Title I, Part A provides additional funding to eligible schools to help students meet Georgia's academic standards. Funds may be used for supplemental instruction, educational resources, school improvement efforts, and family engagement activities.
Title II, Part A – Supporting Effective Instruction
Title II, Part A supports the recruitment, retention, and professional learning of teachers, principals, and other school leaders. The goal is to strengthen teaching and leadership so students receive high-quality instruction.
Title III, Part A – English Learners
Title III, Part A provides supplemental support for English learners as they develop English language skills and achieve academic success. Funds also support professional learning for educators and family engagement activities.
Title IV, Part A – Student Support and Academic Enrichment
Title IV, Part A helps schools provide students with a well-rounded education, create safe and healthy learning environments, and use technology to improve teaching and learning.
